摘要: Geographical Information System (GIS) have proved to be an efficient tool in the delineation of drainage pattern for water resources management and its planning. In this study, GIS image processing techniques been adopted identification morphological features analyzing properties upper catchment Kosi River. The basin area includes high-altitude Himalayan Mountains, including Mount Everest Kanchenjunga peaks. This is main contributing devastating floods 2008 Bihar state India. can divided into three sub-catchments, namely, Arun, Sunkosi, Tamur. A morphometric analysis shows nature River some causes behind high-intensity by comparing these sub-catchments. It that highest-order drains are present both Arun Sunkosi length first-order very high (6,088 km) due absence vegetation also barren/rocky surface which has tremendous potential generate runoff. Due highest mean channel gradient Tamur sub-basin compared others, it flow kinetic velocity. Also, results show sub-catchment contribute runoff sediment. One major intensity sub-catchments a nearly equal time concentration, so they their peak at same hence double floods.
