摘要: This brief summarizes about did social safety net scholarships reduce drop-out rates during the Indonesian economic crisis for period 1998-1999 school year. paper uses regression and matching techniques to evaluate Indonesia's Social Safety Net Scholarships Program. The program was developed try prevent large numbers of children from dropping out as a result Asian crisis. expectation that many families would find it difficult keep their in dropout be high like they were 1980's recession. Drop-outs however have not increased markedly enrolment remained relatively steady. examines role played by scholarship producing this result. found been effective reducing dropouts at lower secondary level 3 percentage points but had no discernible impact primary upper levels. We also examine how well adhered its documented targeting design reaching poor. criteria appear followed quite closely some households with reported per capita expenditures receiving scholarship.
