Gender bias in clinical judgment: An assessment of the analogue method's transparency and social desirability

摘要: The main purpose of this research was to determine whether clinicians discern the intent an analogue study gender bias in clinical judgment and, if so, they respond a socially desirable manner. A total 147 psychologists responded national mail survey which were instructed make ratings case summary describing either female or male client. In one condition (the Social Desirability condition), informed study's and fashion. another No not revealed asked guess hypothesis following their ratings. Results indicate that only 10 100 reported having deduced study. small number guessers prohibited examination guessing leads responses. provide no evidence therapist client influenced judgment. Implications for evaluating experimental findings fail support are discussed.
