摘要: Betasatellites are a diverse group of circular single-stranded DNA satellites frequently associated with begomoviruses belonging to the family Geminiviridae. Challenged geminivirus–betasatellite infection, plants have employed sophisticated defense mechanisms protect themselves. Betasatellites, in turn, employ antagonize these plant antiviral pathways. In this review, we focus on anti-geminiviral immune pathways present both and whiteflies. We also outline counter-defensive strategies deployed by betasatellites overcome host defenses initiate successful infection. Finally, discuss outcomes opposing forces immunity betasatellite-mediated antagonism context an evolutionary arms race. Understanding molecular dialog between will likely allow for development novel strategies.
