Help or hindrance? Social policy and the ‘social determinants of health’

摘要: In recent years, public health research has become increasingly focused on issues of social inequality and disadvantage. This is because issues, such as poor housing unemployment, have been found to impact significantly, are now referred 'the determinants health'. As a result this shift, principally concerned with what historically considered be policy issues. paper discusses the confluence policy; it examines opportunities risks posed by convergence for those working in seeking reduce poverty inequality. We argue that, while much can gained two fields more closely together, there remain fundamental differences perspectives approaches. order maximise benefits, these points difference need thought through sooner rather than later.
