摘要: Objective To evaluate the prevalence of latex sensitization in a group patients with bladder exstrophy, and to determine role associated risk factors, e.g. atopy, number duration surgical anaesthetic procedures. Patients methods The study comprised 17 (15 children two young adults) affected by exstrophy who had undergone multiple procedures. Skin-prick tests specific immunoglobulin-E (IgE) assays against latex, food allergens cross-reacting inhalant were carried out. Results Twelve showed five symptoms related exposure, most common which was contact urticaria (four symptomatic patients). Intraoperative anaphylactic reaction led life-threatening events only one child. Latex-specific IgE determined both prick test assay positive all those symptoms. Specific IgEs foods present four patients. In seven sensitized no clinical symptoms, all, while skin-prick four; three seven. not allergic latex-sensitized, grass pollen mite allergen. None without antibodies allergy. Symptomatic significantly more hours surgery, cystography used intermittent catheterization for longer than symptoms. Conclusion A third another sensitization. Multiple procedures atopy play major development hypersensitivity
