摘要: An outbreak of acute schistosomiasis occurred among a group adventurers who took part in rafting expedition on the Omo River Ethiopia November 1981. Six (55%) 11 members experiencedSchistosoma mansoniinfection confirmed by stool examination. Five these six had symptoms compatible with schistosomiasis. Eosinophilia was most frequent sign infection (five six), and fever, common symptom (four six). Despite medical evaluations, illnesses remained undiagnosed until January 1982. This should alert physicians to risk travelers this Africa difficulty correct diagnosis early course disease. (JAMA1984;251:508-510)
