摘要: Extracanalicular lumbar disc herniation (ELDH) is a specific clinical entity with compression of the nerve root in its extraforaminal course. The classical midline interlaminar approach often difficult because facet joint obviates direct view nerve, and partial facetectomy required. Consequently, risk instability or continued postoperative back pain increased. authors performed microsurgical muscle-splitting an attempt to obtain rupture without sacrificing joint. Twenty-eight consecutive patients were operated upon this surgical procedure. A retrospective study showed that 10 (35.7%) had excellent, 13 (46.4%) good, 4 (14.3%) fair one (3.6%) poor result, according Macnab criteria. No serious complications noted. This procedure safe, effective less invasive.
