Rheological investigation of poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) mixtures in aqueous solution and hydrogel state

摘要: Rheological behavior of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) mixtures in aqueous solutions hydrogel state was investigated. The complex dependence the viscosity on PVA/PVP mixture composition could be attributed to cumulative effects electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding or association phenomena. Physical hydrogels were prepared by freezing/thawing method their viscoelastic properties followed as a function number cryogenic cycles aging time at 37 °C. From swelling experiments, it observed that diffusion water molecules into pores is Fickian (for low cycles) becomes pseudo-Fickian sample submitted more than 10 cycles. obtained physical interactions present high degree tailorability they are suitable candidates for biomedical applications.
