摘要: Abstract An investigation into the mechanism of formation poly(1,4-phenylene sulfide) (PPS) by solution polymerization copper ( I ) 4-bromobenzenethiolate (CBT) at 200°C in quinoline under nitrogen atmospheric pressure is reported. The has been monitored as a function reaction time electron spin resonance (e.s.r.) spectroscopy and evaluating yield molar mass PPS formed. e.s.r. spectra show existence organic free radicals throughout also reveal presence Cu 2+ ions during period, up to about 2h time, when increase rapidly, suggesting initiation single-electron transfer (SET) from + . Ultra-violet radiation 1,3-dinitrobenzene are shown have significant effects on PPS, lending further support argument for involving radicals. Confirmation that CBT capable undergoing irreversible reactions via both reductive oxidative SET processes provided results cyclic voltammetry solutions. study, therefore, provide strong evidence operation CBT.
