摘要: Abstract The outer-sphere contribution to the volume of activation homogeneous electron exchange reactions is estimated for selected solvents on basis mean spherical approximation (MSA), and calculated values are compared with those by Strank-Hush-Marcus (SHM) theory volumes obtained experimentally reaction between tris(hexafluoroacetylacetonato)ruthenium(III) -(II) in acetone, acetonitrile, methanol chloroform. MSA treatment, which recognizes molecular nature solvent, does not improve significantly upon continuous-dielectric SHM theory, represents experimental data adequately more polar solvents.
