摘要: Background The risk of child sexual abuse among non-forensic, non-correctional patients with Pedophilic Disorder (PD) is largely unknown. Methods We recruited a consecutive sample 55 help-seeking, adult men diagnosed DSM-5 PD at university-affiliated medicine outpatient unit in Sweden. participants were compared 57 age-matched, non-clinical control on four literature-based dynamic domains and self-rated risk. Results scored higher than controls all tested (0-3 points); expectedly so for pedophilic attraction (2.5 vs. 0.0, Cohen's d = 2.40, 95% confidence interval (CI): [1.91-2.89]), but also preoccupation (1.6 1.0, 1.11, CI: [0.71-1.51]), impaired self-regulation (1.4 0.44, [0.06 to 0.81]), cognitive empathy antisocial traits (0.9 0.1, 1.18, [0.78-1.59]), (1.0 1.56, [1.13-1.98]). When summarizing five into pre-specified composite score (0-15 points), subjects substantially matched (7.5 2.1, 2.12, [1.65-2.59]). Five (9%) self-reported any previous conviction contact offense eight (15%) possession material or non-contact offending (adult victim). Eighteen (34%) acknowledged past week, child-related behaviors. Conclusion Self-referred, help-seeking (small very large effect sizes) psychiatric measures suggested prior research correctional samples PD. Our findings, including the measure, might inform clinical practice, needs validation against actual behavior.
