摘要: Together with the estrogen receptor (ER) alpha, beta (ERβ) mediates many of physiological effects estrogens. As ERβ is crucially involved in a variety important processes, its activity should be tightly regulated. regulation achieved by hormone binding as well posttranslational modifications receptor. Furthermore, expression levels are under circadian control and can regulated DNA methylation promoter region. There also number factors that interfere activity, such phytoestrogens, endocrine disruptive chemicals, growth factors. In this article, we outline different mechanisms how they implicated various diseases. We discuss these insights might help to specifically target drug design.
