摘要: Abstract Process intensification principles have been applied to a large set of systems, from miniature devices full-scale industrial plants. Focusing on the macroscopic realm, this paper reviews and pathways for intensifying processes, starting with core reaction-separation-recycle process structure continuing energy-integrated systems. An emphasis is placed describing interplay between economic, safety environmental benefits, constraints demands that places design control by reducing respective available degrees freedom. Specific application examples are introduced support these ideas. The concludes an account potential future development directions theory applications.
