摘要: The composition and abundance of megabenthic fauna caught by the commercial trawl fleet in Alboran Sea were studied. A total 28 hauls carried out at depths ranging from 50 to 640 m. As a result hierarchical classification analysis four assemblages detected: (1) outer shelf group (50-150 m), characterised Octopus vulgaris Cepola macrophthalma; (2) upper slope (151-350 Micromesistius poutassou, with Plesionika heterocarpus Parapenaeus longirostris as secondary species; (3) middle (351-640 M. Nephrops norvegicus Caelorhincus caelorhincus, (4) small seamount Seco de los Olivos (310-360 Helicolenus dactylopterus Gadiculus argenteus, together Chlorophthalmus agassizi, Stichopus regalis Palinurus mauritanicus. results also revealed significantly higher abundances seamount, probably related food availability caused strong localised currents upwellings that enhanced primary production. Although depth proved be main structuring factor, others such sediment type appeared important. Differences between could part greater dependence on benthic resources former use planktonic latter.
