摘要: Our broadest interest is in the role of ionic movements development particularly central questions variously referred to as localization, patterning and differentiation. As a model or prototype this broad problem we are studying ion fucoid egg, that Pelvetia fastigiata. This common seaweed egg has two major advantages. First, it free enveloping tissues, accessory cells, impermeable shells which so commonly surround eggs. Second, begins with minimum preformed pattern, practically lacking primary polarity found most plant (and all animal) However, soon exhibits essential features localization. Within day after fertilization ‘germinates’, i.e. initiates growth at one pole, visibly polarizes divides into quite different cells: rhizoid, attachment cell pole thallus its antipode.
