摘要: Fourteen nondialyzed patients with chronic renal insufficiency (serum creatinine 265 to 972 μmol/L [3.0 11.0 mg/dL]) and severe anemia (hematocrit v time) or change in serum potassium was noted for either the placebo treated group over 12-week period. Six of seven had a significant decrease ferritin percent transferrin saturation (plasma iron/total iron-binding capacity). This resulted functional iron deficiency requirement supplementation. The average systolic diastolic blood pressure did not differ significantly between two groups during study. Quality life improved all r-HuEPO-treated but those group. study demonstrates safety efficacy r-HuEPO correction predialysis without adverse effects on function Improved patient well-being as result one refusing appropriate initiation dialysis therapy.
