Evidence of Nanoconfinement Effects in the Adsorption of Hydrogen on Coinage Metal Complexes Dispersed within Porous Carbon

摘要: In this article, we report the results of careful, room-temperature, high-pressure adsorption studies, in which simple complexes copper and silver reversibly adsorb hydrogen when dispersed within nanoporous carbon. Whereas these alone did not hydrogen, they were nanoconfined carbon, adsorbed 1–3 mol H2 per metal center. As a figure merit, cupric formate ∼2.6 H2/Cu at 100 bar 20 °C, much larger than any reported metal-containing medium. On carbon alone, heat decreased with an increase extent, limiting to insufficient levels uptake. By contrast, salts heats increased markedly linear manner, meaning that thermodynamics has moved right direction is self-limiting.
