Effect of Frequent Peer-Monitored Testing and Personal Goal Setting on Fitnessgram Scores of Hispanic Middle School Students.

摘要: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects frequent peer-monitored Fitnessgram testing, with student goal setting, on PACER and push-up performance middle school students. Subjects were 176 females 189 males in 10 physical education classes at a an 83.7% Hispanic population. Students baseline fitness tested five assigned control group experimental no significant differences between two groups test performance. set personal goals participated peer testing four times over next 18 weeks. Results from formal teacher end weeks using MANOVA demonstrated that placement had effect pre- versus posttest scores for tests compared group. also completed PAQ-A, results indicating positive correlation higher weekly activity levels scores, but difference scores. are discussed terms Locke’s setting theory as well recent research pertaining youth testing.
