摘要: This study was a secondary data analysis in which the sociocultural pathway model (Stice & Agras, 1998) tested male and female athletes nonathletes. There were three primary purposes for this study. The first aim to test applicability of theory current sample by conducting confirmatory factor analyses on measurement constructs. second create structural equation that fit best according theoretical directionality constructs theory. third compare predictive paths across sexes athlete subgroups. (N=543) composed competitive (n=56), recreational (n=192), non-athletes (n=294) who completed an online questionnaire measuring major components model. Construct means examined nonathletes both using two-way multivariate variance, follow-up post-hoc Tukey HSD tests. Confirmatory run original structures each construct found be poor. Measures revised, cutting poorly loading items conducted revised measures, finding adequate. A predicting body satisfaction from internalization thin ideals, negative affect, positive perfectionism had low-adequate sample. Comparisons revealed adequate group. Findings suggest field is need improved operational definitions more psychometrically sound measures satisfaction. Attention other also warranted. Future research should examine invariance range minority groups, as well longitudinal models expand eating disorders prevention.
