摘要: Abstract Quasi-static uniform compression tests and low-velocity concentrated impact were conducted to reveal the failure mechanisms energy absorption capacity of two-layer carbon fiber composite sandwich panels with pyramidal truss cores. Three different volume-fraction cores (i.e., relative densities) fabricated: 1.25%, 1.81%, 2.27%. Two-layer identical (either 1.25% or 2.27%), also stepwise graded consisting one light heavy core, investigated under quasi-static compression. Under compression, load peaks identified complete individual layers due strut buckling crushing, specific was estimated for core configurations. In test, damage resulting from investigated. Our results show that compared glass woven textile cores, have comparable absorptions, thus could be used in development novel light-weight multifunctional structures.
