摘要: The blue mesogleal pigment of the symbiotic jellyfish, Cassiopea xamachana Bigelow, 1882, is composed two subunits, a larger glycosylated (35 kDa) moiety and non-glycosylated (30 variant in lower concentration. In solution, subunits assemble large complexes at least 106 kDa. pigment, known as Cassio Blue, appears to mitigate excessive solar radiation while allowing passage wavelengths optimal for photosynthesis by numerous algal symbionts mesoglea jellyfish. an abundant protein comprising about 6% all animal whole jellyfish 33% oral appendages. also contains diverse array metals, notably Ag, Ca, Cu, Fe, Mg, Zn, with traces others. Metal stoichiometry varies among isolates averaging 1 mol taken together, each mole pigment. Given broad metals present, may serve another purpose, example, metal reservoir or trap. Few other proteins are associated such spectrum metals. addition, amino acid sequences tryptic peptides have no reasonable matches any sequence databases. Our findings, whole, suggest that indeed unusual likely representative novel category proteins, original member which rpulFKz1, chromoprotein endowed Frizzled Kringle domains.
