摘要: Abstract Oil and gas companies apply different methods to limit erosion-corrosion of mild steel lines equipment during the production hydrocarbons from underground geological reservoirs. One frequently used is limiting flow velocity a so-called "erosional velocity", below which it assumed that no would occur. Over last 40 years, American Petroleum Institute recommended practice 14E (API RP 14E) equation has been by many operators estimate erosional velocity. The API become popular because simple requires little in way inputs. However, due lack alternatives its simplicity, misused being applied conditions where invalid, simply adjusting empirical c-factor. Even when within specified associated applications, some limitations, such as not providing any quantitative guidelines for estimating two most common scenarios found field: solid particles are present fluids erosion corrosion both involved. A range available open literature presented. Some these overlap with 14E, while others go beyond narrow application range, particularly comes particles. comparison between experimentally obtained calculated models was compared estimated equation.
