摘要: Background: When direct-current (DC) cardioversion is used, sinus rhythm can be restored, at least temporarily, in 80–90% of patients with atrial fibrillation. However, there a small but significant group chronic fibrillation whom DC has failed to restore rhythm. The value antiarrhythmic drug pretreatment before still controversial. Hypothesis: aim our study was assess (1) the effecti veness repeat after amiodarone, and (2) efficacy amiodarone maintaining cardioversion. Methods: Forty-nine ineffective were included study. Repeat performed loading oral 10–15 mg/kg body weight/day for period necessary achieve cumulative dose over 6.0 g. Results: Spontaneous conversion during achieved 9 49 (18%). Direct-current 39 23 these (59%). Mean heart rate decreased from 95 beats/min 68 (p<0.001). Systolic blood pressure significantly (p<0.05) 126 ± 108 25 mmHg. Complications occurring four just electroconversion well tolerated short duration. After 12 months, 52% maintained on low (200 mg/day) therapy. Conclusion: Pretreatment allows restoration about 65% first cardioversion. safely use standard precautions who are receiving amiodarone. At months' follow-up, more than 50% maintain low-dose successful
