Laser-polarimetric measurements of magnetic ac-susceptibility in LiYF4: Ho3+ crystals

摘要: Laser-polarimetric technique with the shot-noise-limited polarimetric sensitivity is used to study magnetic ac-susceptibility in holmium doped LiYF4 crystals range of Zeeman energies comparable that hyperfine interaction Ho3+ ions. Specific features optical methods measurements, experimental setup, and results measurements are discussed. Polarimetric setup (∼10−8 rad) allowed us measure single containing 0.1–0.3 mol % impurity ions signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 102. The obtained field-strength frequency dependences show resonant peaks susceptibility mainly result from cross-relaxation transitions between electronic-nuclear sublevels
