The experiences of single fathers who have reared academically successful children: A collective case study

摘要: This qualitative collective case study explored single fathers’ experiences in rearing academically successful children. Academic success was defined as the completion of high school or college, entering attending college. A purposeful maximal sampling five bounded systems fathers and their children participated current study, using snowball sampling. Data collection methods consisted interviews with children, observations, timelines, letters, physical artifacts. Withincase cross-case analysis data assisted explaining order to assist other fathers. Five emerging themes developed from data. Making a priority involvement related functions sports/organizations emerged commonality satisfying research question—What are children? Single described specific academic strategies expectations, which satisfied questions—What activities do participate that may influence children’s success?—and How does father’s perception competence autonomy contribute Finally, support theme factors relatedness affect
