摘要: A body with a coating comprising one or more refractory layers of which at least layer is α-Al₂O₃ textured in the (110) direction disclosed. Said alumina essentially free cooling cracks, comprises platelike grains length 2-8 µm and length/width-ratio 1 - 10, preferably 3 7. The coated tools according to present invention show improved tool lives compared prior art when used for machining steel cast iron material.
