摘要: Despite new insights into its molecular basis and various treatment options evaluated in numerous trials, therapy of esophageal cancer remains a challenge. In the past, surgery was only option. A patient qualified for when he presented stable condition tumor believed to be resectable. Today vast number strategies, including induction chemotherapy, radiochemotherapy with or without combination surgery, administered an adjuvant neoadjuvant setting, are added traditional alone. Even question, whether after effective chemoradiation does have any impact on prognosis at all is no more than “big biopsy” discussed today. There increasing evidence that patients may benefit from chemotherapy.
