摘要: In the present investigation, evaluation of antimicrobial potential methanolic root extracts (25, 50, 75 and 100mg/mL) plant species, Emelia sonchifolia (Asteraceae) was carried out against certain Gram-positive bacteria ( Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, B. subtilis Streptococcus faecalis, ) Gram-negative Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeureginosa, Shigella dysenteriae Klebsiella pneumoniae fungi Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans, Tricoderma viride, Azospirillum lipoferum Mucor racemosus by detecting zone inhibition using disc diffusion method. The possess significant activity at 100mg/mL tested fungi. minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranged from 400 to1000µg/mL. Therefore, result obtained suggests that exhibited effective target based molecular drugs dreadful microorganisms. Keywords : sonchifolia, Asteraceae, Antimicrobial
