摘要: PURPOSE During orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances, demineralization around brackets often occurs. The aim of this in vitro study was to investigate the effect caries-protective self-assembling peptide P11‑4 (SAP P11-4) on shear bond strength metal brackets. METHODS In all, 45 extracted human wisdom teeth were available for study. randomly divided into 3 groups (each n = 15) and pretreated as follows: test group 1: application SAP (Curodont Repair, Windisch, Switzerland) storage 24 h artificial saliva; group 2: P11‑4; control group: no pretreatment P11‑4. A conventional maxillary incisor bracket (Discovery, Dentaurum, Ispringen) adhesively bonded each buccal surface. tested according DIN 13990. After shearing, Adhesive Remnant Index (ARI) determined microscopically (10 × magnification). Analysis variance (ANOVA) used check groups significant differences (α = 0.05). distribution ARI scores χ 2 test. RESULTS There difference forces between (p = 0.121): group 1 = 17.0 ± 4.51 MPa, group 2 = 14.01 ± 2.51 MPa, 15.54 ± 4.34 MPa. did not vary (p-values = 0.052-0.819). CONCLUSION caries protective before bonding affect strength. Therefore, enamel surface shortly insertion can be considered.
