Muscle and bone distribution in mature normal and double muscled cows

摘要: Abstract Muscle and bone distribution was examined in 11 mature Double Muscled 12 normal muscled (Beef Synthetic) cows which were slaughtered between 470 620 kg liveweight. Expressed as a percentage of total side muscle significant differences found 42 the 95 muscles four nine anatomical groups. In carcasses there shifts weight towards more fleshy, expensive superficial muscles. had proportionately less distal hindlimb, forelimb, deep thicker parts carcass neck than cows. Muscular hypertrophy revealed an increasing inner-outer gradient across layers, with bulkiest being most hypertrophied. The humerus, carpus os coxa formed lower proportions they did Along vertebral column greater percentages lumbar thoracic vertebrae but smaller cervical though not (P > 0.05).
