摘要: This article reports on a mixed methods study to define the role of nurse practitioners (NPs) in rural Nova Scotia, Canada, by collecting perceptions health board chairpersons and health-care providers. Qualitative data were collected telephone interviews with chairpersons. Quantitative survey NPs, family physicians, public nurses, practice nurses.The authors describe participants' perspectives needs communities, gaps current model primary care services, envisaged NPs facilitators barriers NP implementation. Optimizing benefits for residents communities requires attention that impede deployment integration role.
