Adrenal Tumors: 10-Year Experience at Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital and literature Review

摘要: We report our 10-year experience of managing adrenal tumors at Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital (KMUH) between January 1992 and 2002. In total, 53 patients with were analyzed, including 19 men (mean age ± standard deviation, SD, 41.8±12.9 yr; range, 24-66 yr) 34 women 42.3±12.4 1974 yr), an overall mean SD 42.6±12.5 years. All confirmed by surgery pathology. I n series, 41 (77.4%) functional, which 39 (95%) benign; 12 (22.6%) nonfunctional, two (16.7%) malignant. Overall, more common than in especially Cushing's syndrome primary aldosteronism (female:male ratio, 4 1.9, respectively). Of the functional tumors, 20 aldosteronism, 10 syndrome, pheochromocytoma, one was androgen-producing tumor. nonfunctional all presented as incidentalomas, four cortical adenoma, three myelolipoma, ganglioneuroma, cyst, adrenocortical carcinoma, a metastatic carcinoma. 48 underwent adrenalectomy, partial adrenalectomy for small well-circumscribed explored. The diagnosis management is discussed literature reviewed.
