Defining soil quality by different soil bio-indexes: the Castelporziano reserved area experience

摘要: From 1995 to the present time, Working Group “Soil”, led by “Consiglio per la Ricerca e sperimentazione in Agricoltura—Centro di ricerca lo studio delle Relazioni tra Pianta Suolo”, has promoted and performed continual monitoring of soil quality reserved area Castelporziano, with aim identify specific indicators able describe biological fertility forest agricultural soils. Particularly, quantitative qualitative investigations were on organic matter assess relationships between changes activity, composition biodiversity microbial biomass turnover matter, comparing pairs sites that, while insisting same substrate, managed different ways for long time. This review summarizes results obtained about 10 years which representative a wide variety environments such as sandy dunes, retro-dune wetlands zones, Mediterranean high low pseudo-steppe, lowland mixed forests, cork oak pine meadows grazing wild boars, anthropic environments. In this sense, Castelporziano experience, kind “research gym”, can be taken primary reference ecosystems their entirety.
