摘要: Between 1972 and 1981, 93 patients with extremity osteogenic sarcoma without detectable metastatic disease were treated surgery adjuvant chemotherapy. Fifty-two remain continuously free of disease. Thirty-two the 41 who relapsed had pulmonary metastases only 26 underwent thoracotomy to remove all Complete resection was possible in 11 as defined by removal macroscopic disease, no microscopic at margins, histologic evidence pleural disruption tumor. Nine are currently a median duration most recent remission 42 months (range, 3-72 months). Four these nine have one relapse. Only two 15 incomplete above criteria for 57 101 months. A significant difference survival from initial relapse made surgically using this stringent observed even when result is stratified time first number nodules (p = 0.005). subgroup within group undergoing thoracotomies can be expected an improved has been defined.
