Parents' Influence on the Treatment of Amblyopia in Children

摘要: Amblyopia in children is a great problem that has to be identified on time and treatment initiated as early possible achieve optimal therapeutic result. Therapeutic success depends greatly the children's parents' collaboration. It was reason for us embark upon this study evaluate role amblyopia their influence final The aim of assess compliance with therapy prescribed, degree which parents understood health condition, whether they were satisfied child's ophthalmologist. included 105 divided into three groups 35 persons according educational level. All filled out questionnaire. visual acuity measured before after prescribed compared answers questions. Among children, post-therapeutic improvement recorded 66 (62.8%) whereas rest 39 (37.1%) showed no success. Statistical analysis yielded significant difference rate parent's level (P = 0.61). best results obtained highest compliance. utmost importance ophthalmologist gain trust, then leads them better measures prescribed. This mode approach requires more time, which, unfortunately, may not always due number visits cover during working hours. Frequent ophthalmologic follow ups are mandatory sure performed correctly prevent unfavorable effects noncompliance.
