摘要: The Red Data Book of Indian Plants (RDB) is a reference manual that lists threatened angiosperms, gymnosperms and pterydophytes. Because it widely used as an analytical tool major for impact assessments on vegetation, important the RDB be comprehensive up to date possible. This study attempt cross-check listings in using vegetation inventories another manual, Atlas Endemics Western Ghats, India []. Field across Ghats gave estimate species relative abundances provided quantitative information number records endemic herbaria, literature, during field surveys. results this analysis indicate agree statistically regarding conservation status trees. However, proportion per record category behaves erratically, indicating some trees are not listed RDB. Our suggest plant should reexamined priority basis methodology. An updating urgently needed, particularly plants Ghats. We provide list likely threatened, yet listed.
