A bioclimatic classification of Chile: woodland communities in the temperate zone

摘要: The results of application a global bioclimatic classification to Chile are presented. A total 140 weather stations assigned belts on the basis temperature and rainfall regime. In view these assignements phytosociological data, zonation into four major regions (Tropical, Mediterranean, Temperate Boreal) is proposed. For region, we discuss distribution various climax forest communities with respect belt. It suggested that increased knowledge phytosociology will improve understanding climate different parts country. Nomenclature: Plant nomenclature follows Marticorena et al. (1985) for Chilean species.
