Seniors' views on the use of electronic health records

摘要: In the Mauricie and Centre-du-Qu_bec region of province Quebec, Canada, an integrated services network has been implemented for frail seniors. It combines three best practices in field services, namely: single-entry point, case management personalised care plan. A shared interdisciplinary electronic health record (EHR) system was set up 1998. consensus on relevance using EHRs is growing Canada around world. However, technology outpaced interest notions confidentiality, informed consent impact perceived by clientele. This study specifically examines how seniors perceive these issues related to EHR. The conceptual framework inspired DeLone McLean model whose main attributes are: quality, information utilisation modes organisations individuals. last attribute focus this study, which a descriptive with quantitative qualitative component. Thirty were surveyed. Positive they provided falls under headings: (i) being better informed; (ii) trust consideration professionals; (iii) appreciation innovation. opinions are generally favourable regarding use computers EHR their presence. Improvements systems can be encouraged.
