The goal was to equip members become what Robert Boice calls "quick starters,” who meet or exceed their institution’s expectations both research productivity teaching effectiveness in first one two years. Two days were devoted program startup management, effective teaching, final morning managing time, integrating into campus culture, earning tenure promotion. participants unanimously overwhelmingly positive responses following workshop, enthusiasm has continued at gatherings surveys months that followed. This paper describes content activities, summarizes follow-up support assessment plans, offers suggestions planning implementing similar programs.
