Measuring Children’s Participation: a Person-Centered Analysis of Children’s Views

摘要: There is a need to identify meaningful measures of the right participate that embrace both heterogeneity among children and diverse contexts in which participation realized. To date, literature combines contextual personal variation limited. Using person-oriented approach, this study explored relation their perception four domains – home, school, local community country. The data came from representative sample 10- 12-year old students (N = 2339) schools Albania who participated 3rd wave International Survey Children’s Well-being. Latent profile analyses identified groups students, based on participatory preferences along two dimensions - perceived decision-making respect. Two overall patterns emerged: (a) whose endorsement was consistent across all but varied intensity (high level vs. moderate) (b) levels (low moderate high). As expected, profiles defined by greater differed number demographic characteristics (e.g., higher proportion girls, families with socio-economic status). However, contrary expectations, many were not consistently related children’s subjective well-being or satisfaction life domains. importance these findings for targeted initiatives promote transitioning states discussed.
