摘要: Yellow nail syndrome (YNS) can be associated with a pleural effusion (PE) but the characteristics of these patients are not well defined. We performed systematic review across four electronic databases for studies reporting clinical findings, PE characteristics, and most effective treatment YNS. Case descriptions retrospective were included, unrestricted by year publication. We reviewed 112 (150 patients), spanning period nearly 50 years. The male/female ratio was 1.2/1. median age 60 years (range: 0-88). Seventy-eight percent between 41-80 old. All cases had lymphoedema 85.6% yellow nails.PEs bilateralin68.3%. appearance fluid serous in 75.3%, milky 22.3% purulent 3.5%.The an exudate 94.7% lymphocytic predominance 96% low count nucleated cells. In 61 66 (92.4%) patients, protein values >3 g/dL, typically higher than LDH. Pleurodesis decortication/pleurectomy 81.8% 88.9% cases, respectively, symptomatic PEs. development YNS occurs fifth to eighth decade life is lymphoedema. usually bilateral behaves as lymphocyte-predominant exudate. treatments appear pleurodesis decortication/pleurectomy.
