摘要: Finite-element simulation has been carried out to investigate the piling-up or sinking-in behaviour of elastic–plastic strain-hardening materials under a sharp indentation. An empirical model is proposed relate contact area material parameter E/σy and experimental h e/h max. Materials with E/σy<89.07 in limit vanishing friction E/σy<150.7 for coefficient μ = 0.2 may show only sinking-in. Other either depending on max ratio exponent.
