摘要: Background Significant trauma and muscular tightness often result during Total Knee Artroplasty (TKA) surgery thus act to restrict tissue fluid movement resulting with lower extremity oedema. Kinesio Taping is applied directly on the skin for restoration of normal perfusion, removing congestion lymphatic or haemorrhages. In addition manual drainage (MLD) enhances blood circulation stimulates unblocks territories. Objectives The aim study was investigate effectiveness MLD in reducing postoperative oedema, pain functions early stage after TKA. Methods Forty patients who underwent unilateral TKA were randomised as group (n=12), (n=13) control (n=15). For all patients, rehabilitation program included mobilisation physical therapy twice a day stay orthopaedic traumatology department. On second surgery, correction method used standardised 30 min treatment patients. Control received only physiotherapy treatment. Circumference measurements preoperatively second, third, fourth 6th weeks surgery. Injury Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) determine functional outcomes Repeated measures analysis by time differences between groups. Results A significant effect observed oedema difference (F(4,42)=2.44, p=0.047) levels (F(3,54)=4.56, p=0.006) post hoc testing demonstrated significantly both compared group. There no found groups (p=0.933). KOOS results better when (p=0.021). (p=0.851).
