摘要: Electron microscopic studies of Campylobacter revealed that different morphological forms predominate at parts a colony. At the periphery, cells were almost all spirals, while in center colony mainly coccus shaped. Unusual ring-shaped cells, "donuts", observed raised, peripheral region Donut or ring have not previously been reported for organisms. Our data indicate young actively growing are spiral Older undergo degenerative change to coccoid forms. The donut shape appears be an intermediate stage between spirals and cocci. Comparisons plate counts inactive confirmed probably nonviable. Images
