摘要: Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) have gained attention as cancer biomarkers. The inactive zymogen form of MMP-9 (pro-MMP-9) also exists a disulphide-linked heterodimer bound to NGAL in humans. Leukaemias represent heterogeneous group neoplasms, which vary their clinical behavior pathophysiology. In this review, we summarize the current literature on expression profiles pro-MMP-9 prognostic factors leukaemias. We report pro-MMP-9/NGAL complex these diseases. discuss roles (pro)-MMP-9 (active latent forms) tumour development, evaluate mechanisms by may influence actions cancer. Emerging knowledge about coexpression biology (pro)-MMP-9, including leukaemia improve treatment outcomes.
