摘要: T WO types of behavioral information may be distinguished in the literature on chimpanzees and gorillas: 1) that obtained wild, which subdivided into reports unarmed naturalists such as Garner (1896) or Akeleys (1923), collectors hunters Aschemeier (1921); 2) captivity, zoos (e.g. Budd et al. 1943), laboratories Yerkes by people who kept these apes pets Hayes 1951, Lang 1961). Following tradition naturalists, a series fieldworkers (Schaller 1963, Goodall 1962, Kortlandt Reynolds 1964, 1965 press) has recently contributed greatly to our knowledge natural behavior anthropoids. The aim this paper is make some comparisons between population (Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii) studied auth6r Budongo Forest, W. Uganda, mountain gorillas (Gorilla gorilla beringei) Schaller (1963), chiefly at Kabara E. Congo also S. Uganda. Unless otherwise stated, data referring are taken from (1963) those for chimpanzee author's observations (Reynolds 1965, press).
