摘要: Abstract The upper Kangsabati river basin is situated on the extended part of ‘Chhotanagpur Granitic or Granite Gneiss Complex’ (CGGC) West Bengal and Jharkhand. People this hard rock terrain suffer severely from water scarcity during scorching summer. To delineate groundwater potential zones study region, seven hydro-geological factors, such as geology, lineament, slope, drainage, rainfall, soil land use cover are considered. Cartosat-1 DEM IRS, LISS-3 image geological map GSI, NBSS&LUP rainfall data CWC arranged processed in ArcGIS, Erdas Imagine PCI Geometica softwares per requirements to prepare individual thematic layers. assign proper weight an factor based its level influence occurrence groundwater, AHP model adopted serve purpose. Finally, produced by integrating all layers into one ArcGIS software. shows that area 1819.45 km2 (53.33%) good very potentiality groundwater. Only 591.23 km2 (17.34%) identified poor prospect. verification also done computing accuracy assessment. result overall assessment recorded be 79.77%, while Kappa co-efficient calculated 0.73.
