摘要: Detection of change is one the most prominent obligations human brain and can occur in any sensory modality. For example, when a young child shown same red card repeatedly, will lose interest it—i.e., response habituates. However, as blue presented, new stimulus immediately result responses signaling increased attention (Squire & Kandel, 1999). This pattern habituation/attention adaptive, since processing system should not react to perceptions that stay constant over time. Instead, focus on events suddenly indicate need for response. process reflects automatic or bottom-up attention. In addition, selective top-down be engaged such voluntary selected portions auditory visual input occurs. The present chapter review how high-frequency electroencephalographic (EEG) activity “gamma” germane attentional mechanisms underlying detection change.
