摘要: Previous studies have demonstrated an association between resistance to thyroid hormone (RTH) and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). To determine if the neurocognitive characteristics in individuals with RTH are similar those observed ADHD, 12 children from 7 families were matched ADHD without RTH. Subjects administered standardized intellectual, developmental, school achievement tests. Parent teacher ratings of children's attention for both groups, as measures attention, impulsivity, verbal IQ. Children displayed lower nonverbal intelligence (performance IQ = 85) academic (> 1-2 SD below mean) when compared only 99; within 2 SD). Although behavioral their significantly weaker abilities perceptual-organization suggest a more severe neurobehavioral impairment than ADHD.
